Notes: The Sangre de Cristo Mountains provide a snow-capped background to the sinuous forms of the 750-foot tall mass of the Great Sand Dunes in this image. Among the peaks lost in the clouds are several of Colorado's "14ers" - peaks reaching a height of 14,000 feet or more.
