Zebra Stripes

Zebra Slot Canyon, Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument, Utah

Notes: Water has smoothly rippled the upstream walls of this striking slot canyon, but left the downstream side an angular reminder of the turbulence which created this scene. The small, partially exposed mineral nodules are often found intact and free of their rocky birthplace in this area; the locals call them "Moqui Marbles".
