Telescope Peak Reflections

Location:

Badwater, Death Valley National Park, California

Notes: Perhaps the most amazing scene at Death Valley in the Spring of 2005 was the six-mile wide Lake Manly, in this image reflecting the 11,049 ft. Telescope Peak. Normally the floor of Death Valley is a salt flat - the dried-up remains of an ancient sea. According to ancient Shoshone lore, the lake re-appears once every century.
