Notes: The distinctive formations of the Capitol Dome, Capitol Reef, and the gap of Grand Wash form a scenic backdrop to the area near Fruita, a pioneer Mormon village. Mormons settled this oasis along the Fremont River, growing apple and other fruit trees in the middle of the Utah desert.
