Sandstone Swirls

Little Wild Horse Canyon, San Rafael Swell, Utah

Notes: Just West of Green River, the San Rafel Swell leaps up from the desert floor. From the heights above, water rushes through the walls of the Swell, eroding impressive canyons. This swirl of sandstone patterns was formed in a narrow "slot" canyon by torrential water currents.
